Then I went back later to continue my game and get the message that the DLC is no longer available and that the items will no longer be available in game. The announced Lonesome Road downloadable content package for Fallout: New Vegas has now been confirmed as delayed. Bethesda claims that circumstances outside their control led to the delay. While Lonesome Road was on the road map to arrive in July, we have now learned and it has since been confirmed that it will be bumped till September. In a short statement on publisher Bethesda's blog, it was announced that the content had been delayed due to 'recent issues surrounding the PlayStation Network.' Lonesome Road is meant to be the last DLC release from Obsidian Entertainment for Fallout: New Vegas, bringing a close to a story thread that’s run through each previous DLC release and the main game before them. Unfortunately, it seems that we’re going to be waiting a little longer before the full picture is revealed.

Playing this for the first time and I was wondering when is the best time to play each dlc. I've heard that some wait until beating the main campaign before doing some of the dlc and others before the last quest or when you're at the suggested level. Also Dead Money or Old World Blues first? Honest Hearts seems like the one to do first and Lonesome Road the one to do last.

Video game publisher Bethesda and developer Obsidian have announced that the planned Lonesome Road downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas has been delayed into the month of September.

The company said that the move was due to a number of “circumstances outside our control”, which suggests that it might have something to do with the review process that all content needs to go through before being launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

At first Lonesome Road was supposed to be launched during July and now both companies in charge of it are saying that it will be launched as soon as possible, although no clear date was suggested for the September launch window.

Lonesome Road is set to allow the player to contact Courier Six, who is also referenced towards the beginning of the game and might know something about the past of the main characters.

The DLC will take the player into the Divide and will explore the background of the player character and expand the game world.

Lonesome Road is set to cost 10 dollars when it is launched.

Bethesda and Obsidian have not said whether they plan to create and launch more DLC for Fallout: New Vegas in the coming months or whether another project in the series is being created.

New Vegas took the structure of Fallout 3 and expanded it from a narrative standpoint, with the developers at Obsidian creating some truly wonderful and weird stories set around the City of Sin.

The game had some problems when it launched, including some bugs that made it unplayable for a minority of gamers, but since then Obsidian has patched out almost all the issues.

Bethesda is set to publish RAGE, the shooter from id Software, this fall and the action and role playing mix The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will follow in November.
